Extinguish the fire with extinguishers located in the stairwell if it is safe
Evacuate if it is unsafe or when instructed to do so by emergency personnel
If the emergency is not in your area:
Listen to all instructions by the fire brigade
Evacuate the building if instructed to do so by the fire brigade
Do not open windows or doors, unless it is necessary to do so
In the event of an evacuation:
Follow the instructions of the fire brigade
Use the evacuation diagrams located in each stairwell
Follow the green EXIT signs to the closest exit
Do not use the lifts
All staff undergo regular training to ensure that you will remain safe in the event of an emergency. We have regular fire drills, and our alarms are tested every month. We will announce that the alarm is a test before the drill, wherever possible.
Waterfront Cottesloe is equipped with fire detection and prevention systems to ensure you are safe. This includes:
Heat and smoke detectors in your home and common areas that will trigger alarms in the event of a fire.
Loudspeakers in your home and common areas that alert you of a fire.
Sprinklers in your home and common areas that will be activated in the zone of fire detection.
A fire panel located in the level two pedestrian entrance on Gibney Street that will automatically alert the fire brigade when a fire sensor is triggered.
Automatic escape doors that will unlock, and a garage door that will open automatically when a fire sensor is triggered.
