Locally, the team have designed several residences in the western suburbs, ensuring a deep knowledge of our unique coastal conditions.
GKA has received many awards and accolades over the years, including two-time winners of the converted Conde Neste Traveler award for the “Best Hotel in the World”. GKA has also been awarded multiple Australian Institute of Architects awards, including the George Temple Poole Award “In Recognition of an Outstanding Achievement in Architectural Design.”
Led by Jack Kent and Scott Bradley, the project has focused on celebrating the unique lifestyle and coastal conditions of Cottesloe. GKA’s approach to design is about providing for these needs by creating environments that connect interior and exterior spaces.
Jack says “Our architecture attempts to provide romance, something that uplifts and enriches the spirit. We are more inclined towards romanticism than pragmatism, but it is critical to us that our buildings work. We don’t simply create spaces; we aim to create memorable experiences”.
Scott says “Ultimately GKA believe that wherever possible architecture should involve and reflect local conditions, materials and traditions. Each project should reflect the sense of place unique to its location”.
